I'm likely going to be in the market for a 2019 A4/A5 or S4/S5 and am looking for feedback regarding the reliability of the 2.0T used in the B9 A4, A5, and Q5. I have a 2011 A4 that has been reliable except for excessive oil consumption, which plagued the 2.0T for several years.

Ourmid-spec A1 has a 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It produces a modest 92kW/200Nm. The similarly-priced Mini-Cooper has a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo producing 100kW/220Nm, so about on par for the segment. The 1.4-litre turbo is reasonably efficient, but modest in its power outputs.
All1.6 TDI engines don't have balancer shafts. Compare to the 2.0-liter version the bore is smaller by 1.5 mm and stroke by 15 mm. Crankshafts has five main bearings and four counterweights only for reducing loads.
